The Ennis team travelled to Drumlish on Saturday 10 October for round 2 of Division 3 and lost by a single game. Thanks to Drumlish Chess Club, who were great hosts and put on tea, coffee and biscuits for both teams.

Christopher Woods, rated 2087, was too strong on top board. Joe Hackett and Peter Jackson drew on 3 and 4. Luke Thornton and Liam Farrell stepped in as substitutes and won on the bottom two boards. Austin O’Hara’s win over Sarthak Arora on board 5 settled the match.
